Bike Box Hire

Looking after your bike while travelling is top priority and travelling on short and long haul flights with a bike in tow can be a bit daunting - we know, we've been there! A decent bike box or 'hard case' takes all the stress out of packing your beloved bicycle and ensures that it arrives in one piece at your destination (finding rear mechs hanging off and spokes sticking out at the end of a long flight is a major downer). We also hire out soft bike cases too, see below for more details.

Polaris Bike Pod Pro Hire

We are an official Polaris Bike Pod hire centre and have a quantity of both hard and soft cases available for hire to ensure that when you arrive at your destination your bike is in top condition and ready to ride; without the hassle of any damage sustained in transit. 

Polaris Bike Pod Pro are manufactured in the UK, and offer total bike protection which is lightweight, compact and conforms to all major airline bagging or luggage restrictions. Bike wheels are locked securely into position using the quick release mechanism lever, and with a fully foam-padded interior and a moulded design your precious bike is well nurtured against the rough and tumble of heavy duty baggage handlers and airport bashing.

Will My Bike Fit?

The Bike Pod Pro has been tested on a whole variety of brands, sizes and shapes, road and mountain, and they all fit. Even large mountain bikes with 140mm travel forks. Certain bikes might require that you remove the forks to make it fit, but we can advise you how to go about that, and help with any queries you might have about taking parts on and off your bike.

Flying With A Hard Case

We always advise that you check your baggage allowance before you fly, as depending on how your airline/carrier works, it may or may not be included as part of your weight or size allowance and could potentially require you to purchase (or at least register your bike bag as) an extra piece of 'sports equipment'. The bike pod is also very handy for storing extra clothing, body armour or kit too! We have become bike-packing experts in our time!

Soft Case Hire

We also have some soft bike bags available to hire out if this is more suitable to your bike or journey. These are more suitable if you just need to protect the bike in the back of a van or car (we wouldn't want your bike to get bashed about any more than it needed to). Soft bike cases are pretty good on longer journeys and flights but don't offer the protection or reassurance that comes with a hard case.
