Team 4Play Cycles

4Play Cycles was formed by Adam Stitt in 2001 who moved up to Cumbria from Liverpool. Having worked as a mechanic in bike shops in Liverpool for many years Adam decided it was time to set up on his own .

Cumbria was the obvious location to allow Adam to follow his passion for mountain biking and launch his own business at the same time. Starting out by doing repairs at home, Adam has gradually built a successful business, opening his first Cockermouth shop in Kings Arms Lane in 2002. This was so successful that larger premises were needed quickly, so Adam moved to Market Place, where 4Play Cycles still remains.

Adam is very proud of what he has achieved from small beginnings; and the warm friendly welcome you'll get when you walk through the door is true testament to the history of the business and its origins.

At 4Play cycles we like to think we have something for everyone, regardless of what stage of your cycling journey you're on. From a toddler’s first shaky steps on a balance bike, something to pop into town on, a new adventure into mountain biking, or a super-slick road bike to churn up the miles....and everything in between.

The 'no pomp and no frills' attitude in the shop means you get our friendly, honest advice, which we pride ourselves on. We always aim to give you as much information as possible so that you make the right choice within the right budget.

Come and see us...the kettle’s always on!
